There is a network of many illegal businesses spread everywhere in Chimur taluka, these illegal businesses are running safely, there is no comment on this.

Similarly, the illegal liquor business in Jambhulghat and Jambhulghat Bit of Chimur taluka under Chandrapur district is old. Repeated attempts to stop this business have been unsuccessful so far.

Similarly, when news of illegal liquor business is published, the eyes of the responsible police officers under Bhisi Police Station and Jambhulghat Bit Jamadars go to a few liquor traders. Just like some of them do the illegal liquor business and no one else does the business of selling illegal liquor.

Some, the discrimination that occurs while targeting and taking action against illegal liquor sellers, gives protection and encouragement to many liquor sellers. The citizens of Jambhulghat say that illegal liquor was being sold freely in Jambhulghat Bazar Chowk and Jambhulghat Bus Stand area because of the fact that it was established and is still there.

However, for four and a half years, local and Mohafula liquor were being sold freely by setting up shops in Jambhulghat Bazar Chowk. At that time, no one tried to remove the illegal liquor shop or even dared to submit a representation to the Thanedar of Bhisi Police Station to stop the illegal liquor sale.

Now, it has become the worst, Rajendra Sathone, the Deputy Sarpanch of Jambhulghat Gram Panchayat, submitted a representation to the Thanedar of Bhisi Police Station demanding that the sale of local liquor sold on the streets and the sale of village Mohafula liquor be stopped.

When Rajendra Sathone had completed his four and a half year term as Deputy Sarpanch, he was informed about the illegal shop selling local liquor and village liquor at Bazar Chowk and the illegal shop selling country liquor at Jambhulghat Bus Stand. Why has the sale of liquor not been seen till date? The citizens of Jambhulghat are perplexed about this.

It was learned from the district page news of the Dainik Lokmat newspaper dated 30/07/2025 that local citizens have filed a complaint with them against those selling illegal liquor and stated that the peace in the village is being disturbed. Along with this, it is also seen from the Dainik Lokmat report that local citizens say that youth and school students are being dragged into the pit of addiction.

The Dainik Lokmat news states that due to the sale of illegal liquor, misbehavior has increased in the society and there are fights. Also, according to the statement of Deputy Sarpanch Rajendra Sathone, Dainik Lokmat has brought forward that the sale of illegal liquor has a harmful effect on young children.

The Dainik Lokmat report that illegal liquor has various effects on local citizens is true. However, the citizens of Jambhulghat are saddened that they published the news very late.

The citizens of Jambhulghat have not received any complaint regarding the sale of illegal liquor till date. It is not known that Deputy Sarpanch Rajendra Sathone, as a local public servant, has filed a complaint with Bhisi Police Station regarding illegal liquor sale.

Therefore, it is a wise decision that he made late to file a complaint with Bhisi Police Station regarding illegal liquor sale. There are mixed reactions among the local citizens regarding the planning of Jambhulghat Gram Panchayat elections…
