Significant damage was caused after a fire broke out at a warehouse for old vehicles in Khairi village, Nagpur. Approximately 400 old vehicles, along with tires and spare parts, were completely reduced to ashes. The Fire Department managed to bring the blaze under control after several hours of intense effort.
A massive fire erupted on Thursday afternoon at a warehouse housing old vehicles in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The fire spread with such speed that nearly 400 vehicles, spare parts, and tires were burnt to cinders. Firefighters battled for several hours to extinguish the blaze.
The incident occurred in the Taranagar area, situated along the Khairi-Kanhan road. The fire originated in the local warehouse dedicated to old vehicles. The blaze was so destructive that, within a very short time, the entire warehouse was engulfed in flames, triggering panic throughout the surrounding area. The warehouse belongs to Manoj Nagdeve and his partners; it was used to store old vehicles, spare parts, tires, and other items, as well as vehicles undergoing repairs.
According to eyewitnesses, smoke suddenly began billowing from the warehouse on Thursday afternoon. The fire spread rapidly, and the entire premises were soon consumed by the flames. Towering flames and thick black smoke were visible from a considerable distance. The employees present at the warehouse immediately fled to safety and alerted the fire department. Given the intensity of the blaze, approximately 15 fire tenders were dispatched to the scene from Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Kamthi, Yerkheda, and surrounding areas.
After hours of tireless effort, fire department personnel successfully brought the fire under control. However, by that time, nearly 400 old vehicles parked inside the warehouse had been completely reduced to ashes. A large quantity of spare parts, tires, and other items were also destroyed in the fire.
For some time following the outbreak, the entire vicinity was engulfed in smoke, causing panic among local residents. Although the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, the police and the fire department are currently investigating the incident. The owner of the warehouse is also assessing the extent of the damage incurred.
