Alandi: :- On the occasion of India’s 77th Republic Day, a felicitation ceremony for the newly elected municipal council representatives was held with great enthusiasm at Takshashila Buddha Vihar, Alandi Devachi.
On this occasion, Municipal Council President Prashant Kurhade gave a firm assurance of constructing a grand memorial of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar near the Alandi Police Station and starting a study center in the Takshashila Buddha Vihar premises.
The program began with offering garlands and lighting lamps before the images of Tathagata Gautam Buddha and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. On this occasion, Municipal Council President Prashant Kurhade, Leader of the Opposition Aditya Ghundre, Construction Committee Chairperson Sakshi Kurhade, Women and Child Welfare Committee Deputy Chairperson Kanchan Yelwande, and corporators Sagar Kurhade and Govind Kurhade were felicitated with shawls and bouquets.
Alandi Municipal Council President Kurhade said, “It is our collective responsibility to convey the thoughts and work of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar to the next generation. The memorial and study center will provide proper direction and inspiration to the youth.”
The introductory remarks were given by Anand Randive. The concluding remarks and vote of thanks were given by Charudatta Randhave. On this occasion, office bearers of the Takshashila Buddha Vihar Committee, social workers, dignitaries from various fields, and citizens were present in large numbers.
