In the villages under Mauza Kotgaon Gram Panchayat in Chimur Taluka of Chandrapur District, there is no facility of clean water, no works, no construction of drains, no account of money, money spent without work — fed up with all this, the villagers of Mauza Dabkaahetti and Mauza Kotgaon have locked Gram Sevak Ghanshyam Uke inside the Gram Panchayat office.
A Gram Sabha had been organized in Mauza Kotgaon Gram Panchayat for financial approval of upcoming works and for getting the bills of completed works approved.
However, the Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch, and Gram Panchayat members absented themselves from this important Gram Sabha. Out of seven, only one female member from Mauza Dabkaahetti was present. Due to this, the villagers became unhappy.
That is why the villagers of Mauza Kotgaon locked Gram Sevak Shri Ghanshyam Uke inside the Gram Panchayat office.
The villagers present stated that the Gram Sabha has been adjourned four times previously. But the question of why the adjourned Gram Sabha is not being held again is even more concerning and serious.
Information about the Gram Sevak being locked up and other developments has been given to the Group Development Officer of Chimur Panchayat Samiti. However, what stand they take will be known within a few hours.
