The villagers are flatly refusing to perform the last rites of a woman from the Pardhi (tribal) community in the crematorium in Mouja Patewadi (Tal. Karjat, Dist. Ahilyanagar)! This is not just an insult to an individual, but it is a question mark on the existence of the entire society.
Humanity is still suffocating with the rotten chains (ideas) of caste, class and prejudice. If even after death, the end cannot be celebrated with dignity, then what kind of progress, what kind of humanity do the rulers and politicians speak in India and the state of Maharashtra within the country?
If the opposition of the elite citizens of Mouja Patewadi village to the last rites of a tribal woman is not a “murder of freedom and humanity” if the right to last rites is being denied even after 75 years of independence, is this not a “murder of freedom and humanity”? This question is for the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis.

Denying a place for the last rites in public is cruel torture and injustice! Similarly, it is a public defamation of a deceased woman from the tribal community!
Due to this, the government and administration should take immediate action against the concerned people under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Prevention Act.
The tribal brothers had come to the Tehsil Office Karjat with the body of the deceased woman.
The office bearers of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi have strongly condemned this inhuman act. And they have demanded that the administration should immediately look into this and take strict action against those responsible.
