There is a Post Basic Government Residential Ashram School in Mouja Jambhulghat in Chimur taluka of Chandrapur district. 538 students are staying in this residential school for the academic session 2025 to 2026.
However, on August 8 and 9, the health of 267 students of the Post Basic Government Residential Ashram School in Jambhulghat suddenly deteriorated after they were given stale food for dinner at night.
Some students were admitted to the Sub-District Hospital Chimur for treatment, while some students were treated at the Jambhulghat Health Center.
The incident of poisoning due to stale food was so horrific that it created fear in the minds of the students and their parents. Due to this, the students who were staying in the residential school left the Post Basic Government Residential Ashram School in Jambhulghat and returned to their homes.
After the students got poisoned from stale food, the local principal, superintendent, and cook tried to suppress the poisoning case by intimidating the students.
However, since the residential students were suffering a lot from the inconveniences, they informed their parents about this. The parents reached the Ashram School in Jambhulghat and contacted the concerned directly and tried to find out the details of the inconveniences.
But the case of the superintendent, principal and others making a fuss along with the parents of the students under the poisoning was shocking. Parents and students have also experienced this firsthand.
Although the Post Basic Government Residential Ashram School in Jambhulghat comes under the Tribal Development Department, it is seen that the senior officials of this department were ignoring the inconveniences in this school.
In this school, students do not get clean water, do not get proper mattresses to sleep on, do not get fresh food for their stomachs, do not get to live and study in an open environment, what should students do in such a situation? Will Chandrapur District Guardian Minister N. Ashok Uike provide funds for all the necessary facilities for the students in this regard?
And will all the employees who refuse to eat stale food be made to stay at home permanently? This burning question is being raised by the parents of the students.
