Farmers from both villages are sitting on a dharna protest in the scorching sun to demand immediate start of work on the Mauja Makona to Giroli Pandan road under Chimur taluka.
For the last 40 years, farmers have been demanding a Makona to Girola agricultural road. However, the Public Works Department is delaying work after the demand is fulfilled.
However, the farmers’ demand here is that there is a delay in agricultural work. Therefore, the self-immolation protest has been organized with the idea that it will be done even if it is done even if it is done in the scorching sun.
The agitators said that the protest will be withdrawn only if the work starts, otherwise they are firm on their position that the protest will not be withdrawn even if it is done even if it is done in the scorching sun.
The movement is being led by Bhim Army Constitution Guards’ Chimur Taluka Working President Jagdish Bhau Meshram, and his farmer colleagues Chandrakant Pipalkar, Vinod Dhote, Pawan Bobde, Lokesh Dhote, Pawan Doijad, Surekha Shembekar, Lilabai Pedram, Jyoti Kawale, Pushpa Kawale, Vitthal Pimpalkar have participated in the movement.
