The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra state, Ajitdada Pawar, passed away in an accident yesterday morning at 8:44 AM. The plane crashed near the Baramati airstrip, and he unfortunately died in this plane crash, plunging Maharashtra state into mourning.
His last rites will be performed today at 11 AM with state honors.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former Chief Minister and former Union Agriculture Minister Sharadchandra Pawar, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with former Chief Ministers, many current and former ministers, MPs, MLAs, senior party officials, and dignitaries from the social sector will be present at his funeral.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his uncle and former Chief Minister and former Union Agriculture Minister Sharadchandra Pawar, and other current and former MPs, MLAs, prominent leaders from the political and social fields, and party officials had come yesterday and will be coming again today to pay their respects.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar’s wife, MP Sumitra Pawar, MP Supriya Sule, and son Parth Pawar arrived in Baramati from Delhi yesterday, while MLA Rohit Pawar is focusing on the tragic events. All his family members and relatives have also reached Baramati.
Along with Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar, Captain Sumit Kapoor, Captain Shambhavi Pathak, Ajitdada Pawar’s security guard Vidip Jadhav, and flight attendant Pinky Mali were also traveling in the ill-fated aircraft. They too unfortunately died in this accident. Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar had departed for Baramati by plane for the campaign of the upcoming Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections. The plane met with an accident while landing on the runway at Baramati airport.

The untimely death of Ajit Pawar is a tremendous shock. Maharashtra has lost a capable person, a man with the power to make decisions. The loss that has occurred cannot be compensated. But, not everything is in our hands…
