Bapleka, Moreshwar Sonawane, aged 45, and his son Sagar Sonawane, aged 11, from Motegaon village under Chimur taluka, had left for Prayagraj by train on February 24 to take a holy dip in the Mahakumbh Medhav.

However, thieves forcibly snatched his bag near Jabalpur and stole both his clothes and money. After that, Bapleka somehow reached Prayagraj. He bathed in the Ganges river and reached the other bank.

But as he had no money for expenses and to travel to his village, Bapleka wandered for 43 days.

Finally, the father, who was in despair, committed suicide by hanging himself, while the son reached home safely with the help of the police, and this act of kindness is causing a stir among the citizens of Motegaon and the surrounding area.

Moreshwar Sonawane, a resident of Motegaon, and his son Sagar left for Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela without informing anyone at home.

After the theft incident, Baplek started roaming the streets of Varanasi due to financial difficulties. Whenever night fell, he would sleep in the open anywhere. Baplek’s routine of eating whatever he could was going on for 43 days.

Meanwhile, since Baplek had been missing for the past 43 days, his relatives started searching for him in the village. In the meantime, a call came to the village saying that he was in Jabalpur.

Therefore, some people including Chandu Ramteke from the village reached Jabalpur. They searched for him there, but since he could not be found, they returned to the village.

After 43 days, the Varanasi police contacted them over the phone and informed them that the boy was safe.

After that, Chandu Ramteke, Vilas Koram, Sanjay Sonawane and the boy’s mother and relatives left for Varanasi.

It was reported that the boy’s father, fed up with the difficult situation, ended his life by hanging himself from a tree on April 8.

After cremating Moreshwar on the banks of the Varanasi river, relatives and villagers returned home with the boy, and that too with tears in their eyes forever!

The village and the surrounding area are expressing grief over the loss of their father in the dire situation that befell the parents who went to the Maha Kumbh Mela.

The citizens are demanding that the Uttar Pradesh government provide financial assistance to the family in Mauja Motegaon in Chimur taluka under Chandrapur district, which is coming under the state of Maharashtra.

Faith is such a tradition that any person goes anywhere to see God or to traditional programs and gatherings.

But, if after going to such a place, a difficult and extreme situation arises according to reality, even the blessings of saints or the immense faith of human beings cannot save them, as the very sad suicide case of Moreshwar Sonawane has brought to the fore.
