Physical development is related to the ideological development of human beings. If physical development is destructive work, then it should be understood that human thoughts are also destructive.
The developmental thoughts of humans bring about physical development in such a way that the common people will not be harmed. Destroying the common people for the benefit of a handful of people is not development. Conspiring to seize farmers’ lands, eliminating their ownership rights, taking away their means of income, displacing them, making them laborers, turning an owner into a laborer’s laborer — that is not development.

When the government treasury is already in debt, spending hundreds of crores only for Kumbh Mela, cutting down all trees to make grounds available for it, destroying the environment — that is not development but destruction.
Hollowing out mountains to extract minerals like iron, gold, coal, mica, mining the land, cutting forests — that is not development but destruction.
Centralizing water and building large dams, setting up large factories, exploiting workers, allowing corruption and centralizing wealth — that is not development but destruction. “This is destructive development…”
Such development is not called human-centered development but capitalist development — meaning this effort or conspiracy done only to develop capitalists is destructive development.
Building ancient temples by demolishing worn-out temples instead of building modern schools — that is not development. Privatizing government schools is not development. Civic amenities, transportation roads in the country, industries, factories, trade, water, forest, land — are we developing them or destroying them? That is the real question today.
A distinction must be made between development and destructive development. Development from which the very existence of humans is destroyed, their self-confidence and self-respect are destroyed — such development is not development but destruction. What is the use of such destructive physical development? It is better not to do such development than to do it. Such development does not arise from a developed intellect but from a perverse intellect.
It is due to weak intellect that destructive development is brought about. If scheming politicians are in power, such destructive development takes place.
Therefore, a government that is intellectless, conspiratorial, and benefits a handful of people while harming the majority should not be elected to power. Even if this much understanding comes among the majority of people, it should be considered as the country’s development.
The wisdom of voters is the true development. And ignorance is the true destruction. The responsibility of making voters wise lies with teachers, writers, thinkers, media people, social reformers, and revolutionaries.
But for this, these people must also first examine their own intellect. Because it is necessary to find out whether my own intellect is developmental or destructive.
Why is the government in a hurry to bring about physical development? The reason is that the people in power are busy developing a handful of landlords and capitalists rather than developing the majority. Due to their narrow thinking, destructive development is seen taking place.
Due to which natural resources like water, forest, and land are being displaced and are being wasted. The balance of nature is deteriorating. Forests are being cut, mountains are being hollowed out, lands are being drilled in the name of borewells, large mines are being created by breaking land, rivers are being damaged by sand extraction, factories are being set up by cutting large amounts of forest — as a result of all these things, global temperature has risen. The whole world is troubled by this. This means we ourselves have created a Bhasmasur demon to put our hands on our own heads.
Now how to kill it? If this cannot be thought of, then what is the use of this intellect? What is the use of the human race being born? Such a question stands before thinkers.
Perverse intellect, irrational intellect, tolerant intellect — goes so far, goes so far that it brings about a world war. And even if the entire human race is destroyed, at such a time the intellect feels nothing about it. How great is this devaluation of human intellect? For what? Sometimes for selfishness, out of greed, not thinking of the majority, making them slaves in order to exploit them oneself — this is the devaluation of humans.
Now the time has come when one must think: what should be called development? What is developed development and undeveloped development, meaning destructive development? It is time to think about this.
Similarly, what is undeveloped intellect and developed intellect? It is also time to think about this. That destructive intellect is not developed intellect — this we will now have to accept. Once this is accepted, then taking into account the difference between the exploited and the exploiter, it becomes necessary to take the side of the exploited and to be committed to developing the exploited.
