           Justice Bhushan Gavai, a famous jurist from Maharashtra and a legacy of the Ambedkar movement, will become the Chief Justice of the country.

            He will take oath as the 52nd Chief Justice on May 14, 2025.

           He will get a six-month term as the Chief Justice. He will retire on November 23, 2025.

         Justice Bhushan Gavai was born on November 24, 1960 in Amravati district.

           His father, Shri. Ramakrishna Gavai, was the president of the world-famous Diksha Bhumi in Nagpur for many years, was a public representative and was also the Governor of Bihar state, while his mother was a professor.

           His parents are rooted in the public mind as practitioners of Buddhist culture. At the same time, his brother, Dr. Rajendra Gavai, is the National General Secretary of the Republican Party of India and the General Secretary of the world-famous Diksha Diksha Bhumi.

          Justice Bhushan Gavai comes from a cultured family. His original reality is in Vidarbha under the state of Maharashtra. The city of Amravati in Vidarbha is an important place in the formation of his life.
