For the past 1 month, Amit Chaudhary and Gopal Ramesh Chaudhary have been on a hunger strike in front of the Jalna District Collector’s Office demanding the arrest of the accused.
The hunger strikers were trying to meet Minister and Guardian Minister of Jalna District Na. Pankajatai Munde today. At the same time, as per their complaint, the hunger strikers, who were fed up with the police not arresting the accused, had finally said in writing that they would self-immolate on August 15 under the red tape of the government administration.

However, while the hunger strikers have been on a hunger strike for almost 1 month, the District Collector of Jalna District and the District Superintendent of Police of Jalna District have not taken any notice of the hunger strikers at all, what can be said about their insensitive actions and irresponsible duty?
The hunger strikers demanded that the accused be arrested and produced in court. However, the police department officials should have explained to them whether the demand for the hunger strike was justified or not and written correspondence should have been made with the hunger strikers regarding whether the demand for the arrest of the accused was legally justified or not.
At the same time, when the hunger strikers had given a written letter regarding self-immolation on Independence Day, i.e. on August 15, 2025, why did the police not understand their position and the real side of their case? Isn’t this a kind of culmination of the mismanagement of the government and administration?
While the Jalna police were taking the hunger strikers on foot through the streets, videos have been shared on Facebook showing Deputy Superintendent Anant Kulkarni kicking the hunger strikers on the waist on Independence Day today. Prima facie, this video appears to be in accordance with the true course of events.
On August 15, the 78th Independence Day of the country, what is the rule for a Deputy Superintendent of Police named Anant Kulkarni to ask and kick hunger strikers in the middle of the road? And does the police have the right to beat up hunger strikers in the middle of the road? The Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the Home Minister should present this reality to the people of Maharashtra.
The injustice and atrocities being committed by the police department on the people of Maharashtra are unbearable. Therefore, the Maharashtra government should immediately suspend the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Jalna, Anant Kulkarni, who beat the hunger strikers in the middle of the road, and a process should be adopted to dismiss him from service quickly, as is the case with the irresponsible and atrocious actions of the Jalna Deputy Superintendent of Police.
Similarly, the citizens of Maharashtra feel that the Maharashtra government or senior officers of the police department should take criminal action against the said officers who have committed irresponsible acts.

(Note:- However, the village and taluka of the hunger strikers have not yet been revealed through the media or directly. The news has been taken based on the first-hand news of Lokmat Electronic Media.)
