The existence and self-respect of voters is a part of their proper conduct. If the voters’ mentality is that of slaves and subservient, they will sell their votes for money, but if the voters have self-respect, they will not sell their votes for a few rupees.
In fact, self-respecting and aware voters cast their votes for the right candidate without considering caste, religion, or sect, and without harboring hatred towards the candidates, for their own protection!
Even if the right candidate loses, the votes of those voters do not go to waste; instead, new energy and consciousness are created in that candidate and those voters, to move forward in the next election and to maintain their strength!
It is a reality that leaders and office-bearers who say that voting for losing candidates or candidates in the race is a waste of votes, mislead the voters and create fear in them.
Voters should understand that political parties that prioritize capitalists and make decisions in their interest, and disregard the fundamental rights of the citizens of the country, are anti-people.
National and regional parties that, after coming to power, deny the fundamental and external rights of citizens and make decisions solely for the benefit of capitalists, should be rejected by the voters in general elections. Whenever the central or state government denies the rights of voters or citizens of the country and makes decisions against them, “all such parties should be defeated, and voters should protect themselves.” This is why Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar granted the right to vote to all adult citizens.
However, it is the misfortune of the citizens and voters of this country that the capitalist political parties in India have reduced the right to vote to a mere few rupees. Similarly, many Indian voters are unaware of the purpose for which the right to vote is used.
As a result, it appears that capitalist political parties buy votes during all types of general elections by paying voters 1,000 rupees per vote. This practice is opening the doors to corruption in India.
Therefore, a corrupt system has been established in India through the power of the ruling class, and it has started denying the rights of citizens. This is a harbinger of the enslavement of Indian citizens.
Overall, considering the decisions made by those in power in the interest of capitalists and the denial of citizens’ rights based on these decisions, it is a reality that all types of freedom of the country’s citizens are in danger.
Yet, voters in Maharashtra and other parts of India elect candidates of capitalist, corrupt, and anti-people parties by accepting money, thus engaging in dishonest acts and supporting anti-democratic actions. This indicates the ignorance of Indian voters regarding democracy and their own rights.
It is regrettable to say that there are voters in India who exercise their right to vote in general elections without considering their fundamental and external rights.
