Under the leadership of Bharat Mukti Morcha’s National President, Waman Meshram, numerous organizations have issued a call for a “Bharat Bandh” (Nationwide Strike) on April 23, 2026. This protest is directed against the UGC Bill and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), while advocating for the use of Ballot Papers, as well as demanding a national census for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to ensure their rightful representation.
A central theme of this movement—”Saving Democracy”—is inextricably linked to the rights and entitlements of all the indigenous inhabitants of India.
By “indigenous inhabitants,” we refer to the people who are native residents of India—those who did not migrate from foreign lands. For the welfare, protection, rights, and progress of these very people—and to liberate them from the insidious conspiracies of the Brahminical establishment—Bharat Mukti Morcha’s National President, Waman Meshram, along with his office-bearers and activists, have been engaged in a relentless struggle.
Bharat Mukti Morcha’s National President, Waman Meshram, has been consistently presenting evidence to demonstrate how the Central and State governments—driven by a Manuvadi-Brahminical and capitalist ideology—pose a grave threat to democracy, and, by extension, to the indigenous inhabitants of India. Consequently, through various programs and protest movements, he is seen relentlessly tearing away the veil of Manuvad and Brahminism. “That is precisely why the slogans that emerged during the protest held in Nagpur on February 22, 2026, were deeply rooted in—and directly relevant to—the actual ground realities and current events,” assert he and his fellow office-bearers.
One of the most significant slogans among them was….
👇👇
“Brahminism, Brahminism—the greatest form of terrorism…
“Brahminism, Brahminism—the greatest form of Naxalism…”
During the protest on February 22, 2026, the aforementioned slogans successfully captured the attention of citizens across the entire nation.
“The threat that the ruling BJP has posed to the rights of the Indian people—and to Indian democracy itself—stems entirely from the general elections conducted using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs)!” Bharat Mukti Morcha National President Waman Meshram has presented concrete evidence demonstrating that the practice of securing electoral victories through fraudulent means—specifically by manipulating EVMs—was initiated by the BJP, alongside the National Congress Party.
— “For this reason, he frequently asserts: ‘The EVM is a vote thief, and the Election Commission of India is the ringleader of this vote theft.'”
Therefore, National President of BAMCEF, Waman Meshram, maintains that—”for the benefit, protection, rights, upliftment, peace, equality, justice, fraternity, and freedom of expression of India’s indigenous inhabitants (the Mul Nivasi)—comprising OBCs, SCs, STs, minorities, and other communities—all general elections held within the country must be conducted in a manner that is transparent, fearless, and impartial.”
Furthermore, he has repeatedly emphasized that a caste-based census of OBCs must be conducted, and that they must be granted proportionate representation within the government and administrative machinery, commensurate with the size of their population. This specific demand is a key component of the protest movement scheduled for April 23, 2026… (Here, “representation” refers to both elected public representatives and officials within the government and administrative services…) …employees.)
Furthermore, since the issue of equal rights for indigenous resident students in the realm of higher education has been legally enshrined through the UGC Bill, this matter has also been included as a key component of the ongoing agitation.
These constitute some of the major demands. Consequently, the ‘Bharat Bandh’ (nationwide shutdown) is likely to impact schools, colleges, banks, and transportation services.
While providing key details regarding the Bharat Bandh, Waman Meshram (of the Bharat Mukti Morcha / BAMCEF) articulated the primary demands: 1) The use of ballot papers instead of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in elections; 2) Conducting a caste-based census for Other Backward Classes (OBCs); and 3) Opposing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
As part of this nationwide agitation, a warning has been issued regarding the blocking of railway tracks and roadways. This movement enjoys the support of the Bahujan Kranti Morcha, the Rashtriya Pichhada Varg Morcha, and various farmers’ organizations.
In protest against the cancellation of a convention in Odisha, a nationwide march was organized and carried out at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur on February 22, 2026.
The Bharat Mukti Morcha (BMM) is a prominent activist organization established on the ideological foundations of BAMCEF. Led by Waman Meshram, it actively takes to the streets to struggle for the rights of the Bahujan community.
This organization is renowned for its efforts in safeguarding the Constitution, advocating for an OBC census, spearheading agitations against EVMs, and organizing vigorous protests against the policies of the Central Government.
Waman Meshram serves as the founder and leader of the Bharat Mukti Morcha. The organization’s primary objective is to awaken the Bahujan community (comprising Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, and minorities), to uphold and protect the Constitution, to strive for social justice, and to liberate the indigenous Bahujan populace from the clutches of Brahmanism and Manuvad.
[Its activities include] organizing protest marches at the RSS headquarters, opposing the Central Government’s policies—particularly those detrimental to laborers, farmers, the indigenous Bahujan community, and the education sector—and [upholding] the Constitution… The mission of the Bharat Mukti Morcha is to struggle for the preservation of national defense, democracy, and the Constitution.
The organization’s methods of operation include staging sit-ins, organizing ‘Jail Bharo’ (fill-the-jails) agitations, and conducting massive protest marches.
The Bharat Mukti Morcha has frequently staged protests to press for its various demands—notably at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur and at District Collectorates. This organization serves to implement the policies of BAMCEF on the streets.
The Bharat Mukti Morcha (BMM) is a Bahujan-centric organization affiliated with BAMCEF, operating under the leadership of its National President, Waman Meshram. It primarily conducts agitations to advocate for the rights of the nation’s exploited, backward classes (SC/ST/OBC), and minorities, as well as to uphold the Constitution and oppose the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Under the leadership of Waman Meshram, BAMCEF and the Bharat Mukti Morcha (BMM) stand as key organizations fighting for the rights of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, and minority communities. While BAMCEF functions as an employees’ association, the Bharat Mukti Morcha serves as its frontal organization for political and social struggle, working primarily to oppose Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), protect the Constitution, and drive social transformation.
BAMCEF was established on December 6, 1978, born out of the visionary foresight of Manyavar Kanshiramji. The objective of BAMCEF is to bring about social and economic transformation by organizing the employees and officers belonging to the Bahujan community (SC/ST/OBC/Minorities).
This organization does not contest elections directly; instead, it works from the ‘background’ to educate and organize the Bahujan community.
The Bharat Mukti Morcha is a militant organization created to take the struggle to the streets—a manifestation of the ideology espoused by BAMCEF.
Key Objectives…
1) Opposition to EVMs: Conducting a nationwide mass movement against EVMs since 2014, and demanding that elections be conducted using ballot papers.
2) Protection of the Constitution.
3) Opposition to the policies of the RSS and BJP, and a struggle to safeguard democracy.
4) The struggle to secure reservations and other constitutional rights for the 85% majority population…
Given that these organizations possess a nationwide network spanning districts across the country—and because other organizations have extended their support to the ‘Bharat Bandh’ agitation scheduled for April 23, 2026—all eyes are now fixed on the Bharat Mukti Morcha’s ‘Bharat Bandh’ movement.
