There is a village in Lawari (Amboli) in Chimur taluka under Chandrapur district. (The incident is within the state of Maharashtra.) A married woman from Lawari, Mrs. Vidya Kailash Masram, age 40, had gone to her own field for farming in the morning and had to become a victim of a tiger. The unfortunate incident took place today, Thursday, September 18, 2025, around 10 am.

When the information about the incident reached the officers of Bhisi Police Station and the Forest Officer, Chimur and the Forest Officer, Bhisi, they rushed to the spot.

The body was sent to Chimur Upazila Hospital for autopsy after the inquest. After the autopsy, it has been reported that Mrs. Vidya Kailas Masram was cremated at the Mauja Lawari crematorium.

Mrs. Vidya Kailas Masram died on the spot after a fierce striped tiger bit her head off in the main part of her body.

The victim of the fierce tiger in the Bhisi Forest Guard/Forest Guard forest area was a farmer woman from Mauja Lawari (Amboli), which has created fear among farmers, citizens, and women laborers in the area.

Since fierce tigers repeatedly attack humans in the Neri, Shankarpur, Bhisi, and Jambhulghat areas, the citizens of Chimur taluka have appealed to the Forest Department to take control of the fierce tiger as soon as possible.

Similarly, there is talk among the citizens that the tiger was released in Chimur taluka.

Chimur Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Bhisi Thanedar Bhongale, Sub-Inspector Thite, Sub-Inspector Wagh, other police personnel, Forest Range Officer Kishore Deulkar, Bhisi Forest Range Forester Autkar and other forest guards were present at the scene of the incident.

Chimur Forest Range Officer Kishore Deulkar handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to the husband of the deceased Mrs. Vidya Masram, Mr. Kailas Masram. He also gave Rs 50,000 in cash for the last rites.

There was tension at the scene for some time as Forester Borkar was harassing women who had gone for sarpana by taking Rs 1,000 each. The police provided strong protection to Forester Borkar and saved him from the clutches of the citizens.

However, when Forest Range Officer Kishor Deulkar arrived at the scene, he took stock of the situation and calmed the atmosphere against Forest Officer Borkar.
