The leader of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, Adv. Prakash Ambedkar, is the hopeful leadership of crores of citizens. At the same time, he is a wise, skilled leader and an experienced lawyer.
This is why he has successfully fought the legal battle from Aurangabad Bench to the Supreme Court in the Somnath Suryavanshi death case.
Now it will soon be clear how the Chief Minister and Home Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis and the police departments working under his jurisdiction give importance to the Somnath Suryavanshi case.
But, the Somnath Suryavanshi murder case is now under the supervision of the Sambhaji Nagar Bench and is under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
Due to this, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his police department will no longer be able to find a loophole and will not be able to make any excuses. However, it is not possible to say whether they will use the time well or misuse it. Similarly, it is also uncertain who they will accuse.
However, Adv. Prakash Ambedkar is aware of the mindset of the Maharashtra rulers and their working methods. Therefore, it is equally true that he will always be alert and sensitive in the Somnath Suryavanshi murder case.
Similarly (Prakash Ambedkar) is an Indian politician, lawyer and writer. He is the president of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi political party. He was a member of both the houses of the Indian Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha). Due to this, he has extensive experience in government, administrative, legal and other matters.
Along with this, they have a great power of right and realistic thoughts and there is a group of crores of citizens (women/men) in the present country who consider them as their lifeline. That is, they also have a great power of manpower.
That is why Adv. Balasaheb Ambedkar is keeping an eye on the working methods and movements of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the police officers concerned in the case. Similarly, his fellow lawyer brothers will also keep an eye on the working methods of the government and the police department.
July 30, 2025 The Supreme Court has also upheld the order of the Sambhaji Nagar High Court to register a case against the police concerned in the case of the death of Somnath Suryavanshi in police custody in Parbhani. This shows the seriousness of the case.
“On July 4, the Aurangabad bench of the High Court had ordered an FIR to be filed against the police officers responsible for Somnath’s death.
Advocate Prakash Ambedkar, along with Prateek Bombarde and Kirti Anand, appeared for Somnath’s mother Vijayabau Venkat Suryavanshi.
Somnath Suryavanshi, who was arrested after the violence in Parbhani in December last year, died in custody.
The Maharashtra government should respect and follow the Supreme Court’s verdict. Cases should be registered against the guilty police officers in the case of Somnath’s death and they should be arrested.”
The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court had given a clear order to file an FIR against the police within a week in the case of Somnath Suryavanshi’s murder.
Sooner or later, an FIR has been filed in Mondha police station under Parbhani. But against unknown persons. Due to this, now the citizens of Maharashtra have started doubting the functioning of the police and the government.
During the hearing, the Supreme Court was also informed about the case and asked why an FIR has not been filed yet?
Somnath Suryavanshi died while in state custody. Due to this, the government tried to wring its hands as usual. Initially, the state government said that the death occurred in judicial custody, but the postmortem revealed that he died due to multiple injuries.
The court requires prior permission for a second opinion on the postmortem report. The doctors of J.J. Hospital did it without prior permission. This also seems to be a shameful part of the duty.
The provisions of 196 BNS or 174 CrPC are incomplete. There is no provision in the law regarding what action should be taken after the inquest report of a judicial death. The High Court will decide guidelines on this.
The court has taken note of the combing operation in Parbhani. That too will now be part of the investigation. A case can also be registered against the officers involved in that operation. The state government had appealed to the Supreme Court against the High Court’s order to register a case. The Supreme Court has rejected it. Therefore, it was mandatory to register an FIR.
In its interim order, the Aurangabad bench of the High Court ordered the inspector of Mondha police station in Parbhani to register a case within a week.
It also asked the District Superintendent of Police (SP) to hand over the investigation of the case to an officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent.
In this case, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi President Adv. Prakash Ambedkar represented the victim Suryavanshi family.
“The Aurangabad bench of the Mumbai High Court has ordered to register a case against the police.
“This decision is our biggest victory,” said Adv. Prakash Ambedkar, leader of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. He further said, “Somnath Suryavanshi died in judicial custody. The state government and the police were both claiming that it was a case of heart attack. The court rejected that.
