On the occasion of the birth anniversary (April 11) of Mahatma Jotirao Phule—the pioneer of women’s education in Maharashtra, the founder of the Satyashodhak Samaj, and a great social reformer—the “Dakhal News Bharat Parivar” pays him its humble tributes.
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule dedicated his entire life, wearing himself out in the process, for the upliftment of the masses (Bahujans) and for the cause of equality.
“Without knowledge, intellect was lost; without intellect, morality was lost; without morality, progress was lost; without progress, wealth was lost; without wealth, the Shudras were ruined—all these calamities were wrought by a single lack: ignorance!” —
Krantisurya Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, who articulated these profound words, was a great philosopher. Furthermore, he was the pioneer of women’s education; he lit the torch of social equality and learning.
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, the founder of the Satyashodhak Samaj, was a champion of the farmers. He opened the doors of education for women and the masses. He was a visionary and a great social reformer.
Krantisurya Mahatma Jyotiba Phule conveyed to the men and women of India that education is, indeed, the true means of liberation.
