The slogan ‘Jai Gujarat’ given by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah at a program in Pune, the home of education, was indignant and shocking. Has the ruling Mahayuti government accepted the mandalikatva of Gujarat? This question was raised by Bahujan Samaj Party’s State General Secretary and Chief In-charge of Western Maharashtra Zone Dr. Hulgesh Chalwadi on Saturday (5th).

He demanded that Shinde, who raised the slogan of ‘Jai Gujarat’, should publicly apologize to the state. Dr. Chalwadi appealed to the rulers not to Gujaratize Maharashtra for politics. The motto of the BSP, which follows progressive ideas, is ‘Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya’. However, the rulers have undermined the cultural identity of Marathi and the state just to please the Delhiites, the BSP will not tolerate this, said Dr. Chalwadi.

The Mahayuti government has played with the self-respect of the Marathi brothers. Whose behest are the rulers of the state speaking? On whose instructions are they deciding the policies of the state? In whose honor is the slogan of Jai Gujarat being given? Dr. Chalwadi raised serious questions.

The ruling party no longer has the power to make decisions, they are dependent on the grace of leaders from other states. This is not befitting the progressive Maharashtra of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Phule-Shahu-Ambedkar, who established Hindu Swarajya, Dr. Chalwadi expressed his regret.

Big projects with jobs are being shifted to Gujarat. On the one hand, the ruling party is keeping silent in this regard, while on the other hand, the same state is being hailed. This is political slavery, said Dr. Chalwadi.

The double-edged stance of the ruling party is not only a mockery of Marathi identity but also of the self-respect of countless victims, neglected, deprived and hardworking people in the state. Employment is being taken away from the educated people of the state, while on the other hand, the ruling party is busy pleasing the Delhiites and Gandhinagar by shouting the slogan ‘Jai Gujarat’, Dr. Chalwadi expressed his regret and demanded that the ruling party apologize to the state.
