On December 10, 2024, the statue of the pioneer and architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, was desecrated in Parbhani under the state of Maharashtra. After this incident, there was a strong backlash from the Ambedkarites.

In the case of the desecration of the statue of the world-famous great scholar Pandit Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a peaceful protest march was taken out by the Ambedkarites in Parbhani to arrest the accused.

After this march, people with casteist and Manuwadi views deliberately vandalized some shops by tying blue dupas and throwing caps and trying to create riots following this incident, locals said.

However, while carrying out the combing operation, the police, without thinking, entered the houses of Ambedkarites, used force, beat many people, committed illegal torture and arrested many. Somnath Suryavanshi was involved in this.

After his arrest, Somnath Suryavanshi was beaten up by the police while he was in police custody. Somnath Suryavanshi suffered serious injuries in this beating. He died in judicial custody on December 15, 2024. His mother said that Somnath Venkat Suryavanshi died due to the beating by the police.

After the autopsy report, it was clear that Somnath Suryavanshi died due to police beating. After the autopsy report of Somnath Suryavanshi, the police’s fabrication in his death case was revealed.

Due to this, Somnath Suryavanshi’s mother had filed a petition in the Sambhaji Nagar bench through the national president of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and legal expert And. Prakash Ambedkar and through this petition, she demanded that a case be registered against the police for murder.

Today, the decision of the Sambhaji Nagar bench has been made and an order has been given to register a case against the responsible police officers in the Somnath Suryavanshi death case.
