“It is simply unbelievable – have the Chimur and Bhisi police actually started performing their duties? — Did the previously dormant, derelict police officers suddenly spring into action the moment the Chandrapur District Superintendent of Police was transferred? — When will the Revenue Department officials finally wake up from their slumber? — The police have still not turned their gaze toward the illegal betting rackets, illicit liquor trade, unauthorized gravel and sand mining operations, or the prostitution rings…

  Straight Talk

It appears that the previously passive and derelict police officers within Chandrapur district have finally begun to work, ever since Ayush Nepani assumed charge as the District Superintendent of Police and took the reins of authority into his hands.

However—and this is truly hard to believe—these very same officers—who were previously derelict, shirking their duties, turning a blind eye to illicit trades, and providing protection to all manner of illegal racketeers—have suddenly started performing their duties and have become active in the line of service!

In Chimur Taluka, there are hundreds of ‘sand mafias,’ as well as numerous ‘gravel mafias’—including the M.K.S. Company—who are engaging in large-scale illegal mining, extracting between 2,000 and 3,000 brass of gravel under the guise of a mere 100-brass mining lease.

Similarly, hundreds of sand mafias and several gravel mafias remain active in Chimur Taluka, illegally extracting thousands of brass of sand on a daily basis.

Yet, how is it suddenly possible that the very same police officers of Chimur Taluka—who previously lacked the courage to utter a single word against these gravel and sand mafias—have now started seizing their sand-laden tractors and initiating criminal proceedings against both the owners and the drivers?

How is it possible that they have suddenly turned their attention toward those involved in illegal prostitution and begun taking criminal action against them? How is it possible that they have started intercepting pickup trucks transporting livestock for slaughter and initiating criminal proceedings against those involved?” “Yes, this is becoming possible solely due to the assumption of office by the new District Superintendent of Police, Ayush Nepani!

However, five mafia groups involved in the illegal supply of country liquor remain active across the villages and hamlets of Chimur Taluka. These groups even include prominent figures from various political parties. Since these influential figures are openly encouraging organized crime, citizens are of the opinion that it is imperative to initiate action against them under the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act).

Yet, a more critical question remains: will the police forces of Chimur and Bhisi succeed in apprehending the liquor mafia operating illegally in areas such as Wadala (Paiku), Bhisi, Shankarapur, and Motegaon?

Furthermore, a sprawling network of illegal betting operations has spread across every corner of Chimur Taluka. Officers within the local police department are deliberately turning a blind eye to this issue.

Similarly—despite persistent rumors and widespread talk regarding the prevalence of prostitution at various locations within Chimur city—past events have demonstrated that the local Station House Officer (SHO) consistently chooses to ignore the matter. It was expected that he would have already taken decisive action against those involved in prostitution; however, he failed to do so.

Moreover, sand and murum (gravel) mafia groups are operating on a massive scale throughout Chimur Taluka. It is an indisputable fact—one hundred percent true—that while trucks, Hyvas, and tractors are seen moving in and out right before their eyes as part of illegal excavation activities, both Revenue Department officials and police officers completely ignore the situation.

“What is the reason behind this deliberate neglect of illegal sand transportation?” Citizens believe it is essential for the District Superintendent of Police to uncover the answer to this question.

Will the District Superintendent of Police succeed in shutting down the illegal rackets in Chimur Taluka?

All manner of illegal rackets are currently flourishing in Chimur Taluka. The citizens firmly assert that every single one of these illicit operations must be brought to a halt.

The citizens of Chimur Taluka harbor a strong expectation that the District Superintendent of Police of Chandrapur will indeed succeed in putting an end to the illegal activities plaguing their region.” But will they succeed in completely eradicating the illegal activities in Chimur Taluka? This question is even more concerning.
