Home Demolished for Ring Road Project, Leaving Family Homeless; Wife and Daughter Weep Bitterly! — A Dictatorial Glimpse of Illegal and Inhumane Action Revealed! — “Who is the official who authorized the demolition of a house while the matter was sub judice? “Is the Maharashtra Government a ‘Bulldozer Government’?”

Pune District is located within the state of Maharashtra. Within Pune District, the village of Rihe falls under the Mulshi Taluka. A map and a budgetary estimate plan for the construction of a Ring Road passing through this village had been prepared.

Despite the matter being sub judice (pending in court), the administration today once again took a heavy-handed approach—wielding the hammer—against the home of Vilas Shinde, a farmer affected by the Ring Road project.

It has come to light that because direct action was taken without granting any prior notice—even while court hearings regarding this case were ongoing—the Shinde family has literally been left homeless and out on the streets.

This action—which involved demolishing a home and rendering a family homeless—served as a dictatorial glimpse of an illegal and inhumane act.

The affected farmer, Vilas Shinde, left his home premises along with his wife, son, and daughter, leaving behind his 15 livestock within the house compound. However, no one has any idea where they have gone.

Before the affected farmer Vilas Shinde departed with his family members, a heart-wrenching post was made public. Yet, as they were leaving the house, his wife and daughter were seen weeping inconsolably.

As they abandoned their home, their inconsolable weeping left the police officers and personnel present at the scene watching on with a sense of helplessness and innocence.

However—given that the affected farmer Vilas Shinde’s case was sub judice—who is the official who granted permission for the demolition of his home?

Furthermore, does the action taken to demolish the affected farmer Vilas Shinde’s home imply that the Maharashtra Government, too, should be regarded as a “Bulldozer Government”?

If this is indeed the case, will poor farmers and ordinary citizens be illegally rendered homeless for the sake of roads and other development projects? Will their agricultural lands be illegally usurped?

If the Central Government continues to disregard the interests of the common people of India and enacts laws solely to serve the vested interests of capitalists—then who will be there to rein in these laws? Will they put it on? That question still remains!
