Grand Alumni Meet of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering Held with Great Enthusiasm…

       Chandrapur (Correspondent): The grand alumni meet of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology (RCERT)—operated by the Sardar Patel Memorial Society (Trust)—was held in Nagpur amidst great enthusiasm and a truly joyful atmosphere. Alumni working in diverse fields responded spontaneously to the event, reminiscing about old memories and strengthening their bonds of friendship through lively interactions.

        The ceremony was graced by the special presence of distinguished guests, including the college Principal Dr. Anil Chitade, former Director Mr. Devendra Vyas, former Executive Director of Coal India Mr. Alok Srivastava, SESMA President and Area General Manager Mr. Sabyasachi Dey, and the Director of Mines Safety (Western Zone), Mr. Aftab Ahmed. Their presence lent a special stature to the event.

            Since the college’s inception in 1983, thousands of students have graduated from this institution, and many alumni currently hold prestigious positions across various sectors, both within India and abroad. It is a matter of immense pride for the college that a significant number of its alumni are currently serving in leadership roles and holding high-ranking positions within various subsidiaries of Coal India.

         The program commenced at 3:00 PM with the registration process. The attending alumni were welcomed with great enthusiasm and were issued identity badges. A refreshment session provided everyone with an opportunity to gather together and engage in conversation. Subsequently, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, a variety of entertaining games, interactive sessions, and activities were organized. Women and children also participated enthusiastically in these activities, adding a vibrant and lively flair to the event.

        Starting at 6:00 PM, an orchestral performance further heightened the excitement and vibrancy of the atmosphere. The melodious tunes of the music infused a renewed sense of energy and spirit among the attendees. The formal inaugural ceremony then took place between 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM. The program formally commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

              Following this, the dignitaries were felicitated with shawls, coconuts, and mementos. In their speeches, various dignitaries guided the students by sharing insights regarding their experiences in the industrial sector, career opportunities, and future challenges. In his presidential address, Principal Dr. Anil Chitade reviewed the college’s progress, highlighted the contributions of the alumni, and inspired the students to strive for a bright future.

        During the event, retired faculty members and distinguished alumni were also specially felicitated. Furthermore, Mr. Manish Uttarwar (Dean, Gondwana University), Mr. Mallikarjun (Director, RPL Explosives), Dr. Kishor Mule (Head of Department), and Mr. Aftab Ahmed (Director, Mine Safety Department) were honored.

        At the conclusion of the program, Mr. Syed Najimuddin proposed the vote of thanks, expressing his heartfelt gratitude to all those present. The event concluded with various activities, including a group photograph session, cultural programs, an orchestra performance, and a fellowship dinner. This alumni meet served to further strengthen the bonds of affection among the former students, and everyone present expressed a collective sentiment that such initiatives should continue to be organized in the future.
