Illegal sand mining is going on in full swing from the riverbed of Mauja Harni in Chimur taluka under Chandrapur district. This mining has caused immense damage to the natural and water levels of the residents of Mauja Harni. Similarly, due to illegal sand mining, the water level has gone down and the balance of nature has been threatened, which is seriously affecting the farm production of the farmers.
Due to this, they turned their duty towards the sand thieves who were illegally mining sand between 3 am last night and camped at the place where the sand was being extracted and caught 9 tractors full of sand.
After catching the tractor full of sand, they contacted the Chimur police and informed the residents of Mauja Harni that they had caught many tractors transporting illegal sand.
Immediately after this, a team from Police Station Chimur/Police Chowki Neri, under the guidance of Thanedar Santosh Bakkal, reached the riverbed of Mauja Harni. While the Chimur police were starting the work of conducting a panchnama at the site under illegal sand excavation, a serious incident has occurred in which 3 out of 9 tractor drivers took away the tractor full of sand from the Moka site.
Who are the tractor drivers who stole the 3 tractors full of sand and who do these tractors belong to? This is a burning question for the residents of Mauja Harni.
However, the work of catching the tractor full of sand should have been done by the officers and employees of the Revenue, Police, and Mining Departments. Since the officers and employees of all three departments were not catching the sand smugglers, the work was done by the Mauja Harni.
This is why we have to salute their courage and united strength, and they have a reputation for catching illegal sand thieves with their valuables.
There is no other shameful thing like this in the public mind regarding the officers and employees who ignore illegal sand mining!..
It is obvious that the increased courage of sand thieves is due to the indifference of the officers and employees.
Why are the kidnapped tractor drivers not being booked as suspected accused for sand theft? Or the public is of the opinion that the police departments should also bring to the fore whether there is political pressure or mutual relations behind not filing sand theft cases against the caught tractor drivers and tractor owners…
Otherwise, from now on, the local officers and employees must ensure that the local villagers do not release the tractors loaded with sand until the District Collector Chandrapur and the District Superintendent of Police Chandrapur arrive at the designated place.
However, the exact number of tractors seized by the deer hunters between 3 am and 3 am and the exact number of tractors collected by the Chimur police is still a matter of public debate.
