Dilip Janba Nannavare, 50, a resident of Mauja Motegaon in the Chimur Taluka of Chandrapur District, had gone to the forest area—specifically Compartment No. 38 on Pendhari Road—at 7:00 AM yesterday morning to graze his goats.
While the goats returned home, Dilip Nannavare did not return even by 12:30 PM. Consequently, villagers conducted a search of the forest area, during which his body was discovered in the Pendhari forest zone.
Upon being informed of the incident, officials from the Forest Department immediately arrived at the scene. Forest Range Officer Todase (Neri Forest Division), Assistant Conservator of Forests (Tendu) Gaikwad (Bramhapuri), and Forest Range Officer Kannamwar (Talodhi) were present during the official site inspection (panchnama).
The incident occurred within Compartment No. 38 of the Pendhari forest area. The body has been sent to the Sub-District Hospital in Chimur for a post-mortem examination.
The Forest Department has provided immediate financial assistance of ₹50,000 to the family to cover funeral expenses.
